“Black Skincare Is Also K-Beauty” — The Trend Captivating Women in New York
wolGlow Launch Show Held in Manhattan, New York
Optimized for Melanin-Rich Skin
“We developed high-performance products tailored to different skin tones.” — CEO Park Cheol-gyun
“It’s incredible.”
Black beauty influencers gathered at a trendy hotspot bar in Manhattan, New York, repeatedly expressed their amazement.
Rainier said, “When I used the product, my skin looked radiant,” while Hugni commented, “These products are truly impressive.”
Even for beauty influencers who regularly test a wide range of cosmetics, skincare specifically designed for people of color — including Black, Latino, and Middle Eastern consumers — remains relatively uncommon.
Nehemi Pierre, a globally recognized Black beauty influencer, said, “These products were specially created to match the skin characteristics of people of color,” adding, “Korean beauty technology is truly on another level.”
On the 7th (local time), around 100 beauty influencers attended the launch show for wolGlow, a skincare brand tailored for melanin-rich skin, held at a bar in Manhattan, New York, creating a lively and crowded atmosphere.
wolGlow products are manufactured in Korea, a global leader in the beauty industry. Clinical testing for soothing, radiance-enhancing, and cleansing effects was also conducted in Korea.
For many Black consumers, most available skincare and makeup products have traditionally been designed with lighter skin tones in mind, leaving relatively few skincare products optimized for melanin-rich skin. To address this gap, wolGlow communicated directly with Black and Latino consumers throughout the product development process to create products specifically suited for melanin-rich skin.
The brand launched four products designed for different stages of skincare:
- Cloud Play Foaming Cleanser
- Diet Bubble Glow Toner
- Raw Radiant V PDRN Serum
- Vitamin C Hydrating Moisturizer
CEO Park Cheol-gyun stated, “Through collaboration with the Black community and female influencers, we developed products that genuinely reflect users’ needs,” adding, “We will continue introducing high-performance skincare lines designed for consumers with darker skin tones.”
Brand partner Nehemi Pierre also said, “Although countless skincare products are released globally, there has been a lack of systematic skincare solutions specifically developed for darker skin tones with higher melanin levels.” She added, “We were inspired by the excellence of Korean skincare technology and reinterpreted it to better suit Black skin.”
The newly launched wolGlow products are available through the brand’s official website and social media platforms including TikTok and Instagram.
